The Culture in the Schools program is designed to produce citizens who are actively involved in cultural life by increasing the number of cultural experiences offered to students.The program achieves this through collaboration with cultural resources listed in the Repertoire culture-education. Rangoli : An inter-house Rangoli making was conducted. The students participated in the competition with great enthusiasm. Students used natural colours, flowers petals, leaves, coloured rice, and turmeric to fill colours and gave life to he still designs. Each of the four houses had 4 participants. Students participated with a lot enthusiasm as they put together their artistic, imaginative and creative skills to make bright and beautiful Rangoli’s. Our students exhibited their flair in the art by making beautiful Rangoli designs using geometric shape. The judges applauded the efforts of the students on their skills. It was an extremely joyful and memorable event for our school community.
Mehndi : The inter house Mehndi competition held every year for both junior & senior level by which budding artist from all over these classes to show their artistic and creative skills. The best artists from all the four houses had their eyes on the ultimate prize: securing the first place in the competition. The artists made beautiful and it looked mehndi designs like they had been practicing and were eagerly waiting to unleash the creativity buzzing inside them. A few designs were unique as they promoted a message in them. The atmosphere had changed from a nervous one to a very calm and peaceful one. Everyone was complimenting each other on their skills and mehndi. At last the competition ended. Everyone marveled at the most beautiful ones and hoped their own house would win. As the participants left the hall, a great sense of satisfaction filled the air as the participants left the hall happy that they had shown their creativity and art and hoped that more competitions would be held just this way.
Play Reading: Play reading provided an incredible opportunity to students and the talent displayed was exemplary.The motive was to spice up literature and give children an incentive to open a book.The houses chose classics from a wide range of genres. Students learnt lines, rehearsed them to word perfection and put together a fabulous show. Each house staged an exciting, live reading. The participants of each house practiced and equipped themselves to battle their rivals.The plays enthralled the audience and the participants had a wonderful time performing. Once on stage, the atmosphere was electrifying.
